Strawberries and Cream is a classic and well-loved flavor combination, so why not make it into a stuffed waffle. We combined cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla to create a silky and delicious filling, then topped the waffles with lots of fresh strawberries and a generous dusting of powdered sugar.
Because there’s no such thing as too many strawberries, we also added chopped strawberries to the inside of the waffle. This recipe makes 2 waffles, but you can easily double it if you’re feeding a family or having friends over for brunch.
These Strawberries and Cream waffles are the perfect dish to serve on a special spring or summer holiday, such as Mother’s Day, Fourth of July, or a birthday. They’re also great if you’re looking to sweeten up your weekend or if you simply just love strawberries and cream (either way, we don’t blame you).

Before you start, here are a few tips to help you succeed:
- Make sure the waffle iron is hot enough before adding the batter. This will keep the waffle from sticking to the waffle grids.
- Although it may be hard, don’t add too much filling. You want to make sure there’s enough space for waffle batter on the top. (Plus, you’ll need some extra for serving!)
- Since this recipe uses butter rather than oil, the exterior of the waffle will be slightly softer. When removing the waffle from the waffle iron, you might want to use a spatula to support it while you transfer it to a plate so that the waffle doesn’t collapse.

Directions
To prepare the waffle filling, combine the cream cheese, sugar, milk, salt, and vanilla in a medium bowl and whisk until smooth. Chop the strawberries. Set the filling and strawberries aside while you make the waffle batter.
Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
In a large bowl, whisk to combine the egg, milk, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined, smooth, and no clumps remain.
Pour about 1⁄4 cup of waffle batter into the preheated waffle iron, then place about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese filling and 1⁄4 of the chopped strawberries in the center. Pour another 1⁄4 cup waffle batter over the filling so that it covers it completely.
Close the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions. You’ll need to flip the waffle iron so that it cooks evenly on both sides, until nicely golden brown and puffed in the centers. Transfer the waffle to a plate. Repeat step 5 to make the remaining waffle.
Serve the Strawberries and Cream stuffed waffles with additional cream cheese filling, strawberries, powdered sugar, and maple syrup.
