So what is chermoula? It’s a traditional North African sauce that’s packed with aromatic herbs and spices like cilantro, cumin, and paprika, along with tangy lemon juice and garlic. It’s typically used as a marinade for fish and meat but in this recipe, we’re using it stirred in the eggs and deliciously stuffed into the waffles!
To make the chermoula stuffed waffles start by whipping up a classic and simple batter. You can make the batter gluten-free, or vegan! Everything goes with these deliciously seasoned chermoula eggs. When the batter is done, set aside for a minute and make the chermoula eggs. Simply, stir the eggs with the chermoula sauce and cook on medium heat. To stuff the waffles follow the instruction in the recipe below and you will have an explosion of flavors in just 15 minutes. Serve your chermoula stuffed waffles right away with more of the sauce on the side.
