Place The Stuffed Waffle Iron on the burner and pre-heat it on low to medium low temperature.
Lift the top pan and pour about ¾ cup of batter onto the bottom pan, covering the bottom indentations.
Place sausage, egg, and cheese onto the batter just added to The Stuffed Waffle Iron
Cover the filling with more batter up to the top rim of The Stuffed Waffle Iron.
Close the waffle iron, flip it, and cook on medium-low for about 6 minutes on each side. When done, turn the heat off, open the top pan, and remove the cooked stuffed waffle using the center pan.

This also works great with scrambled eggs. I found it easier to make a batch of scrambled eggs and portion them into the waffle as I was making them. Plus, my kids like their eggs scrambled more than fried. :-)
Anni, thanks for your feedback! I have actually discussed getting a protective sleeve for the scissor assembly with my manufacturing partner. We plan to make those available in the near future.
We just tried our waffle maker for the first time today – how have we lived without stuffed waffles before? :) They are so filling I couldn’t finish a whole one! Mmmm, leftovers! The only change I would make would be to have a way to have a protective sleeve of some sort for the scissor assembly. Thankfully I was able to use a BBQ glove, although a bit awkward due to the bulk of the glove. Overall, this waffle maker is fantastic and I can’t wait to see more recipes to try!
can you use a runny yoke egg in the waffle? I love runny yokes!
